Have you heard about ChatGPT? It’s a much-hypes IT phenomenon that can help writers and students with their work. At first, people just used it to create silly and basic texts for fun, but now professionals are considering using it to help them with their daily tasks.

One way that writers and students can use ChatGPT is to generate a lot of content quickly and then edit it later. This can save time and help with the writing process. However, there are some concerns to keep in mind. For example:

Cons:

  • The content generated by ChatGPT may not be entirely accurate, and there is a risk of plagiarism if the writer doesn’t check the work carefully.
  • The AI-generated content can be repetitive and may not include the most recent information.
  • ChatGPT relies on datasets up to 2021, so it can’t produce content using up-to-date information. Although there are turnarounds to connect it to the web search. 
  • You will have to double-check every argument and fact as AI tends to “hallucinate” at times.
  • Consider the time required for editing and bringing the text to a required standard – opposed to writing the piece from scratch.

On the other hand, there are some advantages to using ChatGPT as well. For example:

  • ChatGPT can push you in the right direction and provide ideas for inspiration.
  • AI bots can serve as a more powerful thesaurus.

Overall, using AI bots like ChatGPT can be a useful tool for writers and students, but it’s important to approach it with caution and to be aware of the pros and cons. It’s also essential to use it responsibly and to fact-check any information generated by the program.
